1 MOU GTRA790, GTRA791, GTRA792: The ABSN Arizona Nursing Service Scholarship Award is a need-based scholarship for students who meet the academic requirements for the ABSN clinical program. Eligible applicants will receive a scholarship up to the cost of tuition and fees for the ABSN clinical program, once all other federal and gift aid is awarded. The scholarship requires the recipient to serve as a nurse in Arizona for at least four years after graduation. Failure to fulfill this service commitment will result in the need to repay the scholarship to GCU. This scholarship is contingent on starting the secondary portion of the program in Spring 2025 at specific Arizona learning site locations. GCU's scholarship committee will review all applications and select the recipients. Successful candidates will be notified of the scholarship award, which cannot be combined with any other offers.
2 Secondary applicants must transfer a minimum of 60 of the required 123 credits or have completed a baccalaureate degree which includes nine prerequisite courses/labs and 10 general education courses prior to starting the core nursing courses, which can be completed in as few as 16 months. Direct entry applicants that do not transfer 60 credits but meet the minimum requirements can complete these credits through GCU prior to starting the core nursing courses. Depending on the state where student has enrolled or intends to complete the program, student may require additional courses. This may include, but is not limited to, additional general education courses, courses in the major, clinical courses or a different course sequence. See University Policy Handbook.

4 COVID-19 has adversely affected the global economy and data from 2020 to 2023 may be atypical compared to prior years. Accordingly, data shown is effective September 2023, which can be found here: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Outlook Handbook, Registered Nurses, retrieved on October 16, 2024.
5 The earnings referenced were reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Registered Nurses as of May 2023, retrieved on October 16, 2024. Due to COVID-19, data from 2020 to 2023 may be atypical compared to prior years. BLS calculates the median using salaries of workers nationwide with varying levels of education and experience. It does not reflect the earnings of GCU graduates as registered nurses, nor does it reflect the earnings of workers in one city or region of the country or a typical entry-level salary. Median income is the statistical midpoint for the range of salaries in a specific occupation. It represents what you would earn if you were paid more money than half the workers in an occupation, and less than half the workers in an occupation. It may give you a basis to estimate what you might earn at some point if you enter this career. Grand Canyon University can make no guarantees on individual graduates’ salaries. Your employability will be determined by numerous factors over which GCU has no control, such as the employer the graduate chooses to apply to, the graduate’s experience level, individual characteristics, skills, etc. against a pool of candidates.
